Shallipoppi

Crown Uzama, known professionally as Shallipopi, is a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter. He gained initial recognition with the release of "Obapluto" in 2023. Shallipopi was signed to Dvpper Music Distribution, a Nigerian music record distribution founded by "Damillola Akinwunmi". He is best known internationally for his 2023 hit single "Elon Musk",[2] which peaked at No. 1 on the Nigeria Top 100 Apple Music.[3]

Shallipopi started his career making freestyles, and posting them on TikTok and other social media platforms. He made a breakthrough with the release of his single "Elon Musk".[4]

On 20 June 2023, Apple Music announced Shallipopi as the latest featured artist in its Up Next artist development program in Nigeria.[5][6] On 30 June, he released the remix of "Elon Musk" featuring Fireboy DML and Zlatan.[7][8]

On 7 July 2023, he released the single "Ex-Convict", which debuted at number 6 on the TurnTable Top 100.[9][10] On 11 July 2023 his EP Planet Pluto.[11] On 17 October 2023, he launched his own record label after signing to Dvpper Music Distribution with his music acts Zerry DL and Tega Boi. Shallipopi signed them the day he launched the record label.[12

He rose to mainstream fame in 2023 following the release of his song Elon Musk,[3] which peaked at number one on the Nigeria Too 100 Apple Music.[4] He followed up with his debut studio album Presido La Pluto (2023), which peaked at number one on the TurnTable Top 50 Albums[5] and also peaked at number five on the Apple Music top 100 albums.[6][7]
